Matthew Merringer
Independent Scholar
Matthew Merringer is a graduate of the University of Dayton with
a MATS. His research component explored Protestant sermons from 1811-1850 and how those
clergy encouraged the laity to an understanding of the American foreign policy based on their
anti-Catholic religious beliefs. He continues to explore contemporary expressions of Evangelical
political theology.
